Struan Robertson joined TIPS as an Intern in October 2016. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Industrial Sociology and an Honours degree in Economics, both from Rhodes University. He is working toward a Masters degree in Economics, also from Rhodes University, on strategies and guidelines that may help societies that wish to develop and thrive.
Struan is an alumnus of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung/University of Fort Hare Autumn School programme on Social Democracy and Political Economy. In 2013, he worked on a report on the economic and cultural impact of the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. His research interests include the economic development of societies, the promotion of democratic values, economic history, macroeconomic phenomena, environmental sustainability, skills regimes, social wellbeing, and the political economy.
