Sithembiso Mtanga joined TIPS in 2007 and has progressed to become one of the organisation’s senior researchers.
He has a BCom (Economics and Econometrics) and Bcom Honours (General Economics) from the University of Johannesburg as well as an MSc Finance (Economic Policy) degree from the University of London.
He has nine years' economic research experience and has worked extensively in investment, trade and industrial policy-related projects. Sithembiso also has seven years' Project Management experience and maintains good relations with policymakers within the ITED, IDD and TISA divisions at the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti).
Over the years he has undertaken advanced training in International Trade, Macroeconomics and Public Financial Management; and also participated in the Standard Bank Banking Group Leadership and Skills Development Programme.
