Wendy Nyakabawo is an Economist at TIPS focusing on industrial policy. She has worked on projects dealing with value chains in the mining and chemicals sector, Special Economic Zones, R&D and innovation, procurement, and economic multipliers. She is also a Teaching Assistant for the TIPS training course on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling. Wendy holds a Masters in Economics degree (with distinction) from the University of Pretoria specialising in Econometrics. She has co-authored journal articles on “Temporal causality between house prices and output in the US: A bootstrap rolling-window approach” in the North American Journal of Economics and Finance and “House Price, Stock Price and Consumption in South Africa” in the Corporate Ownership and Control Journal. Prior to working at TIPS, she worked as an Advanced Analytics consultant intern at AC Nielsen and as an assistant lecturer at the Economics Department at University of Pretoria.
