Sandile Mbatha holds an Honours degree in Econometrics and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg. He is completing his Master of Commerce in Development Economics at the University of Johannesburg. In 2024, He won the prestigious Nedbank and Old Mutual budget speech essay competition (postgraduate category). His interests include regional integration, foreign direct investment, regional value chains, industrial policy and industrial development.
