This paper critically reviews the East Asian Miracle Report and relates to the debate around the existence of industrial policy in these countries, and whether they've made any impact. The author assesses the view that industrial policy was behind the downfall of the East Asian Model and further discusses whether the more recent economic, political, and institutional changes have made any use of industrial policy in East Asia less feasible in the future.
